Your first Seville weekend: a route with room to enjoy it

Build your first Seville weekend around the Alcázar or cathedral, Santa Cruz, Plaza de España and a riverside outing to Triana. This suggested plan helps you choose between the major visits, leave time for meals and reduce outdoor walking when it is hot.

01

Day one: the Real Alcázar and Santa Cruz

Book the Real Alcázar for its palace rooms, courtyards and gardens, and leave room to enjoy the outdoor part of the visit. Afterwards, walk through Santa Cruz towards Plaza de Santa Cruz and Plaza de Doña Elvira. Keep the afternoon for lunch and the neighbourhood instead of attaching another long timed visit immediately after the palace.

02

Choose where the cathedral fits

Seville Cathedral and the Giralda are another substantial visit. Choose them as your main day-one attraction instead of the Alcázar if that suits your interests, or put them on day two and shorten the park outing. Check whether your ticket includes the tower, and consider whether the climb fits your group's mobility and energy.

03

Day two morning: Plaza de España and María Luisa Park

Visit Plaza de España to look at the tiled provincial benches, bridges and sweep of the building, then continue into María Luisa Park. This is a good outdoor morning with time to sit down. In summer, start early and keep the route shorter rather than assuming a park walk will be comfortable at midday.

04

Day two afternoon: the river and Triana

Walk beside the Guadalquivir and cross Puente de Isabel II into Triana. Use Plaza del Altozano as a meeting point, then explore the neighbourhood streets and choose a place for a meal. You can enjoy the riverside without booking a cruise; if a boat ride matters to you, give it its own time slot.

05

Choose one evening experience

A flamenco performance can be a worthwhile evening if music and dance interest you. Compare the venue's programme and booking details, and eat before or after the show rather than assuming dinner is included. For a simpler evening, return to Santa Cruz or the river for a stroll and a meal.

For a dedicated flamenco evening, you can book a show at Teatro Flamenco Sevilla and arrange dinner separately around the performance. This venue is not in Triana, so check its address rather than assuming it follows directly from the riverside walk.

06

Keep a heat or rain alternative

If the outdoor plan becomes uncomfortable, shorten the park and spend the time in an available cathedral or palace visit, or take a longer lunch. These suggestions are flexible blocks, not a promise of same-day tickets. Leave your final morning near your accommodation and departure connection.
