    Clear about what stays on your device.

    Packtricia is designed as a local-first travel utility. Here is the complete policy for the iOS and Android app.

    Effective date: September 1, 2026

    Packtricia (“Packtricia,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is the controller of the personal information described in this policy. This policy applies to the Packtricia mobile application for iOS and Android.

    Summary

    Packtricia does not require an account. Trips, packing lists, checklist progress, travel preferences, and app settings are stored locally on the user’s device. Packtricia sends limited information to its API when destination, weather, city-photo, or destination-essentials features are used. If advertising is enabled, Google Mobile Ads may process device and usage information only after applicable consent requirements have been handled. Users can delete local app data from the Storage and reset screen.

    Information we process

    Information stored locally

    • Saved destinations, trip dates, destination coordinates, and saved weather results;
    • packing preferences and trip characteristics selected by the user;
    • generated and custom packing items, item names and quantities, and checklist progress;
    • up to 20 saved trips and up to 10 recent destination searches;
    • app language, appearance, temperature-unit, and display preferences; and
    • local counters used to limit weather API requests.

    This information remains on the device unless a feature described below sends specific information to a service provider. Local app data may also be included in operating-system backups controlled by the user and the platform provider. Android cloud backup is disabled by Packtricia.

    Destination search

    When a user types a destination, the app sends the search text to Packtricia’s API. The API validates and rate-limits the request, then forwards it to Geoapify so the app can return matching cities and coordinates. Cloudflare may process standard network and request metadata, including an IP address, for rate limiting, security, caching, abuse prevention, and service logs. Geoapify states that API request information may include the request body, headers, IP address, and timestamp for access control, usage counting, troubleshooting, and performance, and that successful request information is generally retained no longer than 24 hours. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy and Geoapify’s privacy policy.

    Packtricia does not request or use the device’s GPS location. Destination coordinates describe the place the user plans to visit, not necessarily the user’s current physical location.

    Weather

    When weather information is requested, the app sends the destination latitude and longitude, requested language, and temperature-unit preference to Packtricia’s API. The API validates, rate-limits, and caches the request, forwards the coordinates to the configured weather provider, and returns the forecast. The app filters the returned forecast to the selected trip dates on the device. Cloudflare and the weather provider may process destination coordinates, IP address, technical request metadata, and other information required to provide and secure the forecast under their own privacy policies and applicable terms. Saved weather results remain in local app storage until deleted or replaced.

    City photos and destination essentials

    When a trip is created or its destination image is needed, the app sends the city name to Packtricia’s API. The API requests a suitable city photo from Pexels and returns the selected image URL. Pexels may receive the search term and standard network metadata under its API terms and privacy policy; Packtricia does not send a user’s name, account, trip dates, or packing list to Pexels.

    When destination essentials are shown, the app sends the destination’s two-letter country code and, where available, its time-zone identifier to Packtricia’s API. The API may use those values to retrieve currency, languages, calling code, driving side, local units, time zone, and emergency-number information from REST Countries. REST Countries may receive the request path, query string, API-key identifier, IP address, and other request metadata under its privacy policy. This lookup does not include an account or packing-list identifier. Returned emergency information may be incomplete or change, so users should verify emergency numbers locally.

    Advertising

    When advertising is enabled, Packtricia uses Google Mobile Ads, including native and rewarded ads. Depending on the user’s region and choices, Google may process:

    • IP address, which may be used to estimate general location;
    • device or advertising identifiers;
    • app launches, taps, ad views, video views, and other product interactions;
    • advertising data, such as ads shown;
    • crash, performance, and other diagnostic information; and
    • consent and privacy signals.

    These data may be used for advertising, ad measurement, analytics, security, and fraud prevention. Packtricia requests an updated consent status before initializing the advertising SDK and does not request ads until Google’s User Messaging Platform reports that ads may be requested. Where required, consent and privacy choices are handled through the advertising consent flow and applicable operating-system controls. On iOS, tracking across other companies’ apps and websites requires permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework. Declining personalized advertising or tracking does not prevent use of Packtricia’s packing features. Google’s current Mobile Ads disclosures are available for Android and iOS. Google’s general privacy policy is also available.

    External links and partner services

    The app may offer links to travel-adapter information, visa information, or an eSIM/data provider. These links open an external website only when the user chooses them. The destination website applies its own privacy policy and terms. Some links may be partner links that can result in Packtricia receiving a commission.

    Notifications

    Notifications are optional. Users can enable or disable trip reminders in Settings and choose the day and morning or evening time for two independent local reminders: a preparation reminder before or on the start day, and a final packing check before or on the trip’s last day. When enabled, Packtricia asks for notification permission and schedules these reminders through the device’s operating system. Reminders are not scheduled when their selected time has already passed, and users can change notification permission in system settings. Packtricia does not use notifications to track users.

    Support and privacy messages

    Packtricia does not send a support message automatically. If a user chooses to contact support, the app opens an editable email draft that may include:

    • the subject and message entered by the user;
    • app version and build number;
    • device model and operating-system version;
    • selected app language and theme; and
    • the name of the Support screen.

    The user’s email provider processes the email and provides the sender address to Packtricia when the user sends it. Support and privacy correspondence is retained only as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain context, prevent abuse, and document completed requests. It may be retained longer when reasonably necessary for legal claims, security, or a legal obligation.

    Why we process information

    • Performance of a service requested by the user: destination lookup, weather retrieval, packing-list generation, local saving, deletion, and support requested by the user.
    • Consent: personalized advertising, access to device identifiers for tracking, and device storage or access used for advertising where consent is legally required. Consent may be withdrawn through the available privacy controls without affecting processing that occurred before withdrawal.
    • Legitimate interests: maintaining app and advertising security, preventing fraud and abuse, diagnosing problems, responding to support, and operating and improving the service, where those interests are not overridden by the user’s rights.
    • Legal obligations: responding to legally valid requests and complying with applicable law.

    Service providers and disclosures

    Packtricia may disclose limited information to Geoapify for destination autocomplete and geocoding, weather service providers for destination weather and forecasts, Pexels for city imagery, and REST Countries for destination essentials, all through the Packtricia API; Google and participating advertising partners for consent management, ad delivery, measurement, analytics, security, and fraud prevention when ads are enabled; Apple and Google platform services for app distribution, operating-system permissions, device backups controlled by the user, and local notifications; and email providers chosen by the user when sending support or privacy correspondence.

    We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, to investigate abuse, or as part of a business transfer subject to appropriate safeguards and notice.

    Sale, sharing, and targeted advertising

    Packtricia does not sell personal information for money. Some privacy laws define the use of advertising identifiers and activity for cross-context behavioral advertising as “sharing,” “targeted advertising,” or a “sale” even when no money is exchanged. Where those definitions apply, users may opt out through the applicable advertising consent flow or operating-system privacy controls. Google Mobile Ads supports applicable consent and restricted-data-processing signals through its User Messaging Platform. Packtricia does not discriminate against users for exercising privacy rights.

    International processing

    Providers may process information in countries other than the user’s country. Where required, processing and transfers must use an applicable legal mechanism, such as an adequacy decision, contractual safeguards, or another lawful transfer basis. Geoapify states that its core API services are hosted in European Union data centers, while network and advertising providers may operate globally.

    Retention and deletion

    • Local app data remains until the user deletes it in More > Storage and reset > Delete local app data, clears individual content, or uninstalls the app, subject to operating-system backups.
    • Packtricia automatically limits storage to 20 saved trips and 10 recent searches.
    • Support and privacy correspondence is retained only as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above.
    • Destination, weather, advertising, Apple, email, and other independent providers apply their own retention policies.

    Deleting local app data removes saved trips, lists, packing progress, recent searches, travel preferences, local usage counters, and app settings from Packtricia’s storage on that device, and cancels scheduled Packtricia reminders where the operating system permits. Advertising consent choices are managed separately through the advertising privacy control because they are maintained by the consent platform.

    Security

    Packtricia uses HTTPS for app service requests, blocks cleartext network traffic on Android, minimizes information sent to providers, and does not operate a cloud account database for packing data. Access to developer accounts and support correspondence should be limited to authorized persons. No storage or transmission system can be guaranteed completely secure.

    User choices and rights

    The Privacy screen explains Packtricia’s privacy practices and opens this full privacy policy. Advertising consent may be presented through the applicable provider or operating-system flow. The separate Storage and reset screen allows users to permanently delete local Packtricia data from the device.

    Depending on location, users may have rights to know or access personal information; correct inaccurate information; delete information; restrict or object to processing; receive portable information; withdraw consent; opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising; limit certain uses of sensitive personal information; and complain to a data-protection authority. These rights may be subject to legal exceptions.

    California notice

    In the preceding 12 months, Packtricia may have collected the following categories described by California law: identifiers and contact information; internet or other electronic network activity; approximate location inferred from IP address by advertising providers; device and diagnostic information; advertising information; and user-provided content. The sources, purposes, and recipients are described above.

    Packtricia does not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16. A California resident may exercise applicable rights to know, correct, delete, opt out, limit, or receive equal service by using the in-app controls or emailing [email protected]. An authorized agent may submit a request, subject to legally permitted verification.

    Children

    Packtricia is a general-audience travel utility and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13. If a parent or guardian believes a child provided personal information through support, contact us so that we can investigate and delete it where required.

    Changes to this policy

    We may update this policy when Packtricia’s features, providers, or legal obligations change. The revised policy will show a new effective date. Material changes will be communicated in the app or by another appropriate method when required.

    Website analytics and cookie choices

    This section applies to packtricia.com. The app policy above continues to describe the iOS and Android apps.

    With your permission, this website uses Google Analytics 4 to understand page visits, guide reading, destination selections, search result counts, and app download or store-link clicks. Google also processes technical information such as browser/device information and an approximate location derived from your IP address. Download clicks measure interest; they do not tell us whether you installed the app.

    We do not send raw search text, email addresses, saved trips, packing lists or account identifiers to website analytics. Page URLs and referrers sent by our tracking code omit query strings and fragments. Google advertising signals and advertising personalization are disabled in this integration.

    Analytics is optional and starts after you choose “Allow analytics.” You can decline or change your choice using “Analytics preferences” in the footer. Your choice is stored on this device for up to 180 days. Analytics cookies are configured to expire after 60 days; Google Analytics data retention is managed in our Analytics property settings. Withdrawing consent stops further analytics collection on this website and removes accessible Google Analytics cookies from this domain. Previously collected information is not automatically erased by changing this choice.

    Google may process information outside your country. Read Google’s privacy policy and Google Analytics privacy information. For questions or requests, email [email protected].

    Messages sent through the website

    If you use the contact form, we process your name, email address, selected topic and message to respond to your request. Cloudflare processes the form request and verifies its anti-spam token using Turnstile. Resend processes the message for email delivery to Packtricia; your email address is used as the reply-to address.

    We do not store contact messages in a website database or send their contents to Google Analytics. Messages and replies are kept in our email systems only as reasonably needed to respond, maintain context, prevent abuse and document completed requests, or where needed for legal claims and obligations. Cloudflare, Resend and email providers also apply their own retention practices.

    Read Cloudflare’s privacy policy and Resend’s privacy policy. You can also contact us directly at [email protected].
