Day one morning: Majori’s shoreline and wooden buildings
Start at Tirgoņu Street’s beach end, with the Sea Pavilion and bronze Turtle sculpture as clear anchors. Look at the pavilion’s corner tower before walking back towards Jūras Street. The official Majori architecture route links this seafront setting with the former Emīlija Rācene bathing establishment at Pilsoņu Street 1 and the villas along Jūras Street. Choose a few façades and notice balconies, carved trim and changing roof shapes. These are exterior views; a heritage address does not grant entry to a private garden or house.
Day one afternoon: choose pines or the resort museum
Continue towards Jomas Street and Turaidas Street if Dzintari Forest Park is your afternoon choice. Keep the viewing tower optional: an elevated outlook involves an access route that may not suit everyone, while a shorter pine-path walk can be the whole visit. On a wet day, consider Jūrmala Museum at Tirgoņu Street 29 for resort history instead. Checked on 14 October 2026, the tourism calendar lists the museum closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Confirm the exhibition calendar before travelling; the beach and permitted street route offer an outdoor alternative when the museum is closed.
Day one evening: a Dubulti meal with a real address
For a seated meal, plan a separate move to Dubulti rather than assuming the restaurant is beside Jomas Street. 36.Line Grill Restaurant at Baznīcas iela 2B fits a Dubulti shore outing. Its published menu offers a Baltic-style herring-and-potato starter and fish stew among dishes to check for the day. Confirm the current menu, dietary requirements and a reservation directly. The operator address agrees with the official beach guide. This restaurant is different from the 36.Line food truck at the end of 36. līnija; use the Dubulti address when arranging your meal.
Mobile data for your trip. Check what your current plan includes for roaming. If you need another option for maps, messages and booking details, compare NXTL eSIM coverage and rates. Check that your phone supports eSIM and is unlocked, and check coverage for every stop. Download important maps and confirmations for offline use too.
Day two morning: Ķemeri Resort Park as a different outing
Make Ķemeri a separate western excursion, with transport and the return arranged before setting out. The historic hotel and the water tower are useful resort-park anchors. Reviewed on 14 October 2026, the official tourism page lists Ķemeri Hotel closed throughout its weekly calendar; no confirmed reopening date was found there. Enjoy an exterior view from permitted public space instead of planning a hotel interior, spa treatment or lunch inside. Packtricia will recheck reopening information, but readers should check the venue before travelling. The available park route provides the alternative without requiring a tower climb.
Check the tower season before making it the focus
The municipality’s water-tower page, updated in September 2026 and checked on 14 October, specifies a visitor season ending on 25 October. Older English tourism notices give different end dates, so confirm directly for an autumn trip. The upper observation platform needs a reservation; it is not an automatic addition to a park walk. After the published season, keep the park and hotel exterior as the plan and ask about reopening rather than assuming year-round access. If anyone needs a step-free visit, establish the actual route with the operator before committing.
Day two afternoon: choose the bog or a shorter shore return
The Great Ķemeri Bog Boardwalk is a separate trail, not a path immediately behind the historic hotel. Establish the access point, usable route and return transport first. The official guide warns that wet boards are slippery and winter snow is not cleared. Its No. 5 express bus notice applies only to 1 June–31 August 2026; that service period had ended at our October review. Do not rely on it for an autumn connection. If the transfer or conditions do not suit your group, return to a shorter Majori or Dubulti shore walk and a confirmed meal instead.
A guided alternative for visitors starting in Riga
If you are staying in Riga, a guided day trip can combine the bog and seaside without arranging each transfer yourself. Choose this as an alternative to the independent Ķemeri day, then keep the rest of your weekend flexible. A Riga departure is not a Jūrmala hotel pickup. Read the selected itinerary and participant restrictions before booking, particularly if the walking surfaces or vehicle access matter to your group.
Consider this Riga-departure Ķemeri Bog and seaside Jūrmala day trip as a separate Riga-based option. Confirm the Riga Cathedral meeting instructions, English guide, transport and your selected date. Meals are extra; no hotel interior or water-tower admission is established. Check participant-age and mobility restrictions with the provider.
Pack for the actual route, with a shorter version ready
Wear shoes that grip damp paving and boards, and take a removable layer for slower seaside pauses. Keep rain protection accessible rather than buried under belongings. Swimming or spa plans need their own booking and conditions; the closed historic hotel is not a substitute for an operating spa. Leave time to eat and reach transport without rushing. In poor weather, one architecture stretch and a confirmed indoor visit can make a comfortable day; there is no need to add the bog simply because it appears on a regional map.
