Email support ↗Packtricia is designed as a local-first travel utility. Here is the complete policy for the iOS and Android app.
Packtricia (“Packtricia,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is the controller of the personal information described in this policy. This policy applies to the Packtricia mobile application for iOS and Android.
Packtricia does not require an account. Trips, packing lists, checklist progress, travel preferences, and app settings are stored locally on the user’s device. Packtricia sends limited information to destination and weather services when those features are used. If advertising is enabled, Google Mobile Ads may process device and usage information only after applicable consent requirements have been handled. Users can delete local app data from the Storage and reset screen.
This information remains on the device unless a feature described below sends specific information to a service provider. Local app data may also be included in operating-system backups controlled by the user and the platform provider. Android cloud backup is disabled by Packtricia.
When a user types a destination, Packtricia sends the search text to Geoapify so the app can return matching cities and coordinates. Geoapify states that API request information may include the request body, headers, IP address, and timestamp for access control, usage counting, troubleshooting, and performance, and that successful request information is generally retained no longer than 24 hours. See Geoapify’s privacy policy.
Packtricia does not request or use the device’s GPS location. Destination coordinates describe the place the user plans to visit, not necessarily the user’s current physical location.
When weather information is requested, Packtricia sends the destination latitude and longitude to its weather service and filters the returned forecast to the selected trip dates on the device. The weather service may process destination coordinates, IP address, technical request metadata, and other information required to provide the forecast under its own privacy policy and applicable terms.
When advertising is enabled, Packtricia uses Google Mobile Ads, including native and rewarded ads. Depending on the user’s region and choices, Google may process:
These data may be used for advertising, ad measurement, analytics, security, and fraud prevention. Packtricia requests an updated consent status before initializing the advertising SDK and does not request ads until Google’s User Messaging Platform reports that ads may be requested. Where required, consent and privacy choices are handled through the advertising consent flow and applicable operating-system controls. On iOS, tracking across other companies’ apps and websites requires permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework. Declining personalized advertising or tracking does not prevent use of Packtricia’s packing features. Google’s current Mobile Ads disclosures are available for Android and iOS. Google’s general privacy policy is also available.
Notifications are optional. Users can enable or disable trip reminders in Settings and choose the day and morning or evening time for two independent local reminders: a preparation reminder before or on the start day, and a final packing check before or on the trip’s last day. When enabled, Packtricia asks for notification permission and schedules these reminders through the device’s operating system. Reminders are not scheduled when their selected time has already passed, and users can change notification permission in system settings. Packtricia does not use notifications to track users.
Packtricia does not send a support message automatically. If a user chooses to contact support, the app opens an editable email draft that may include:
The user’s email provider processes the email and provides the sender address to Packtricia when the user sends it. Support and privacy correspondence is retained only as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain context, prevent abuse, and document completed requests. It may be retained longer when reasonably necessary for legal claims, security, or a legal obligation.
Packtricia may disclose limited information to Geoapify for destination autocomplete and geocoding; weather service providers for destination weather and forecasts; Google and participating advertising partners for consent management, ad delivery, measurement, analytics, security, and fraud prevention when ads are enabled; Apple and Google platform services for app distribution, operating-system permissions, device backups controlled by the user, and local notifications; and email providers chosen by the user when sending support or privacy correspondence.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, to investigate abuse, or as part of a business transfer subject to appropriate safeguards and notice.
Packtricia does not sell personal information for money. Some privacy laws define the use of advertising identifiers and activity for cross-context behavioral advertising as “sharing,” “targeted advertising,” or a “sale” even when no money is exchanged. Where those definitions apply, users may opt out through the applicable advertising consent flow or operating-system privacy controls. Google Mobile Ads supports applicable consent and restricted-data-processing signals through its User Messaging Platform. Packtricia does not discriminate against users for exercising privacy rights.
Providers may process information in countries other than the user’s country. Where required, processing and transfers must use an applicable legal mechanism, such as an adequacy decision, contractual safeguards, or another lawful transfer basis. Geoapify states that its core API services are hosted in European Union data centers, while network and advertising providers may operate globally.
Deleting local app data removes saved trips, lists, packing progress, recent searches, travel preferences, local usage counters, and app settings from Packtricia’s storage on that device, and cancels scheduled Packtricia reminders where the operating system permits. Advertising consent choices are managed separately through the advertising privacy control because they are maintained by the consent platform.
Packtricia uses HTTPS for app service requests, blocks cleartext network traffic on Android, minimizes information sent to providers, and does not operate a cloud account database for packing data. Access to developer accounts and support correspondence should be limited to authorized persons. No storage or transmission system can be guaranteed completely secure.
The Privacy screen explains Packtricia’s privacy practices and opens this full privacy policy. Advertising consent may be presented through the applicable provider or operating-system flow. The separate Storage and reset screen allows users to permanently delete local Packtricia data from the device.
Depending on location, users may have rights to know or access personal information; correct inaccurate information; delete information; restrict or object to processing; receive portable information; withdraw consent; opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising; limit certain uses of sensitive personal information; and complain to a data-protection authority. These rights may be subject to legal exceptions.
Because Packtricia has no account and cannot identify a user’s local installation, users can view and edit local information through the app and delete it through Storage and reset. For support correspondence or other information held outside the device, send a request to [email protected]. We may request limited information needed to locate records and reasonably verify the request. We will respond within the period required by applicable law.
In the preceding 12 months, Packtricia may have collected the following categories described by California law: identifiers and contact information; internet or other electronic network activity; approximate location inferred from IP address by advertising providers; device and diagnostic information; advertising information; and user-provided content. The sources, purposes, and recipients are described above.
Packtricia does not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16. A California resident may exercise applicable rights to know, correct, delete, opt out, limit, or receive equal service by using the in-app controls or emailing [email protected]. An authorized agent may submit a request, subject to legally permitted verification.
Packtricia is a general-audience travel utility and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13. If a parent or guardian believes a child provided personal information through support, contact us so that we can investigate and delete it where required.
We may update this policy when Packtricia’s features, providers, or legal obligations change. The revised policy will show a new effective date. Material changes will be communicated in the app or by another appropriate method when required.
